lluís vidal trio

Created in 1982, it is an agile and balanced outfit with a mild and always suggestive sound. It is a perfect vehicle allowing the pianist, as well as his two companions, to express freely.
The aesthetic proposal of the trio through these years has been very varied, depending on the pianist’s aesthetic concerns and on the different personalities of the double bass players and drummers having taken part of the trio. At present its repertoire is formed by original compositions and very personal interpretations of popular catalan songs.

Lluís Vidal Trio has released five albums so far: “Cançons populars” (1989), “Tren nocturn” (1993), “Milikituli” (1995), “Orquestra de Cambra Teatre Lliure with Lluís Vidal Trio featuring Dave Liebman” (1997) and “Lluís Vidal Trio and Dave Liebman” (1997), "Lluis Vidal Trio and Mark Feldman" (2003).
They have performed at the most important festivals in Spain and in the international festivals of: Copenhagen and Aarhus (Denmark), Leverkusen Jazzstage and Köln Stadtgarten (Germany), The Hague Delta Jazz (Holland), Geneva AMR Festival (Switzerland), Malmö and Lund (Sweden), Grenoble Jazz Festival (France), Beijing “Waiting for Jazz” Festival (China) and San Martin’s Cultural Center in Buenos Aires (Argentina).
They have collaborated with the Orquestra de Cambra del Teatre Lliure, with the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, with Orquestra Nacional de Cambra d’Andorra and the Orquesta de Cámara Andrés Segovia.
