During the last periods, the Orquestra de Cambra Teatre Lliure has been perfiling the new coordinates on his actuation line. One of these subjects is called ‘Open music’ and has compiled music styles influenced by popular origins (Tango, Rock, Jazz,...) and gradually it has been incorporating to the orchestra’s trajectory a new artistic view unexplorated until then for many of orchestral bands in our country, with the collaboration of international music referrents like Dave Liebmann, Pablo Mainetti, Vince Mendoza, John Abercrombie and Egberto Gismonti among others.
In the line of open music it has to be remarked the jazz music productions that have become specially important under the direction of Lluís Vidal. They are pointed out the concerts with Dave Liebmann as a solist of Lluís Vidal music (1995), the jazz version of ‘Porgy and Bess’ by G.Gershwin (1998), ‘Tributes to Ellington’ (1999), ‘El Tercer Policía’ by Django Bates (2000), the jazz versions of Stephen Sondheim music (2000) and Jumps Start and Jazz ballet: 6 syncopated movements by W.Marsalis (2001).

Some of these productions are still available on records market.
