"Brassiana"
is the convergence point between two languages, the classic one
with its contemporary sphere, and jazz with its intimate phonetics.
A view of seduction and complicity through the chamber music never
seen before, being inevitable to sucumb into the fascination of
the resultant sounds. Original composition for metal quintet and
rhythmic session, by the catalan composer and pianist Lluís
Vidal, was ordered by Spanish Brass Luur Metalls, released
on 1st December 2000 in the Avui Jazz festival in Vila-Real.
It is also the title of the show that Spanish Brass Luur Metalls
together with Lluís Vidal Trio performed on that festival
for the first time and which is part of the new discographic project
of both bands. The show is 65 or 75 minutes long, and original themes
for quintet, trio or octet are included, all of them by jazz contemporary
artists. During these years, a great and diverse number of styles
appeared and it became non-uthopic to fly away another universe.
